Here we have another major overcall. North has a choice of bids over 2 ♥. As shown I have north bidding there diamond suit naturally. The alternative is to bid 2 ♠. This looks confusing as why can't north have a spade suit. North could. However after we overcall in one major in the first instance we are always going to define an immediate bid in the other major at the lowest level as a cue-bid. The cue-bid is ambiguous however. Initially it shows either good heart raise or a directional asking bid - looking for a spade stopper. Here after a 2 ♠ bid by north the auction would develop:
