Here we start with a double as south has six spades and a second suit. We prefer 4 ♦ (and 4 ♣) for hands with only five spades as it will get hard to show our extra spade.
After 2 ♠ is passed back to south a simple 2 ♠ bid shows the spades and strength. The only hands that double 2 ♦ with a five-card major are hands that are too strong for a 2 ♠ overcall.
North has a fit and makes a courtesy raise and south has plenty extra to go on to game.
